Trump Responds to Biden at Pennsylvania Rally

• Former US Pres. Donald Trump branded Pres. Joe Biden an "enemy of the state" on Sat., during his first public appearance since the FBI searched his Mar-a-Lago residence on Aug. 8.
• It was also Trump's first public response to Biden's Sept. 1 speech, during which the Pres. condemned what he called "MAGA forces" that he deemed a threat to American democracy.
• Speaking at a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Sat. - to bolster support for Republican US Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz and gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano ahead of the midterms - Trump called Biden's speech the "most vicious, hateful and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president." He added, "The danger to democracy comes from the radical left, not from the right."
• Trump also used his platform to criticize Biden for allegedly vilifying the 71M voters who supported him in 2020.
• The ex-President's comments come amid ongoing controversy concerning the Mar-a-Lago search. Trump claimed that a politically motivated judge - "handpicked" by Biden's administration - signed off on the raid of Trump's Florida home, which saw the FBI seize dozens of classified documents.
• He also suggested that the Biden admin. oversaw the raid, violating the independence of the Justice Dept. (DOJ) and FBI. Trump called the search a "travesty of justice" and accused the FBI and DOJ of becoming "vicious monsters" who work for "radical left scoundrels." He further predicted that the search would inspire "a backlash the likes of which nobody has ever seen."
