Report: Hunter Biden Calls for Former Business Associate to Be Investigated

Facts

  • Hunter Biden has reportedly asked a top federal prosecutor to investigate Tony Bobulinski on claims that he lied to the FBI about their relationship, as his former business associate has repeatedly stated that one-tenth of a business deal involving a Chinese company and its executive Ye Jianming was reserved for Pres. Joe Biden.1
  • According to a copy of a letter obtained by NBC News, his lawyer, Abbe Lowell, stated that he recently received information indicating that Bobulinski made several false statements concerning Hunter Biden in an interview with the FBI in October 2020.2
  • The content of that interview was disclosed through the House Oversight Committee following the sworn testimony of two IRS agents, prompting Lowell to urge US Attorney Matthew Graves in the letter dated Oct. 7 to investigate the allegations against the Biden family.3
  • While the retired Naval officer told investigators that he attended a meeting with Hunter Biden, his uncle James, and other business associates in Miami in February 2017, Lowell cited WhatsApp messages Bobulinski sent days after that meeting expressing frustration for not being invited.4
  • In response, an attorney for Bobulinski issued a statement on behalf of his client to deny such allegations and suggest that he and the Biden family should appear together for public testimony before Congress without delay.5
  • Meanwhile, the Republican-led House Oversight Committee released a video and bank records on Wednesday suggesting that Joe Biden received $40K in alleged laundered Chinese money from his brother James and sister-in-law Sara, who wrote him a check for a 'loan repayment' in 2017.6

Narratives

  • Democratic narrative, as provided by Slate. For three years, Republicans have been screeching from the rooftops, making absurd claims and parroting conspiracy theories about Hunter Biden. Despite non-stop coverage and claims of direct evidence that implicates Joe Biden in a foreign money laundering scheme, the GOP has nothing to show for it. All Republicans have is shaky testimony from Tony Bobulinski, who didn’t even work that closely with Biden. Bobulinski has no credibility, and the obsession with Hunter Biden is meritless.
  • Republican narrative, as provided by New York Post. There's so much smoke surrounding the business dealings of Hunter Biden and his father that it's impossible to maintain that the Biden family hasn’t engaged in nefarious dealings with foreign entities. While the media covers up the Hunter Biden laptop story and smears Tony Bobulinski’s credibility, the evidence remains clear that Hunter was always looking out for the “big guy.” Countless messages show the depth of the Bidens’ corruption, and sworn testimony from a business associate should be taken seriously.
