- The result was widely predicted by opinion polls, which showed Cheney lagging well behind Hageman, primarily due to her outspoken opposition to Trump and her participation in the House Select Committee investigating the Capitol riot.
- After conceding the loss, Cheney offered public remarks including that "no American should support election deniers for any position of genuine responsibility." Cheney has consistently rebuked Trump's claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
