FBI Probes Racist Texts Sent to Black Americans After Election

Shortly after the conclusion of the 2024 US presidential election, Black Americans in at least 25 states have reportedly received anonymous text messages containing racist references to slavery and cotton picking.^[1]^[2]
The targeted recipients include university students at Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama. Many messages contained personalized information about the recipients, and some included the #MAGA hashtag.^[3]^[2]^[4]
TextNow, a messaging service provider, confirmed the texts were sent through its platform and shut down the accounts involved. The FBI and the Justice Department are investigating the incidents.^[2]
The texts originated from different area codes and phone numbers, many of which were later disconnected or traced to TextNow's burner phone service.^[5]^[2]
Law enforcement agencies and state officials across multiple jurisdictions, including Virginia and New York's attorney general's offices, condemned the messages and urged recipients to report them.^[2]
Recipients reported feeling scared and unsafe after receiving the messages, with some expressing concern about how their personal information was obtained and whether they were being watched.^[1]

White supremacy is going to keep growing with Trump in office, and it's up to leaders at all levels of the country to condemn racism and hold to account whoever's responsible for these types of acts.

Unfortunately, it's unclear who sent the racist texts, and it could be the result of some apolitical teenagers pulling a prank. It's incredible the lengths leftists will go to blame Trump for anything, to settle political scores.
