  • The virtual roll call vote started at 9 am on Thursday, and over 4K delegates had until Aug. 5 to submit their ballots. However, with Harris running for the nomination unopposed, she became the official nominee two weeks before the Democrats were supposed to hold a traditional roll call vote.[1][2]
  • This comes after the Harris campaign announced that it raised $310M last month, with two-thirds of the donations coming from first-time donors and over $200M in the first week following Pres. Joe Biden's endorsement of Harris. It had $377M in cash at the end of July.[3]
  • Harris is expected to announce her running mate in Philadelphia on Tuesday. Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA), Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), and Gov. Andy Beshear (D-Ky.) are widely seen by Democrats as the top contenders.[4][5]
