FBI Director Testifies on Trump Shooter

Facts

• On Wednesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the House Judiciary Committee about the July 13 assassination attempt on former Pres. Donald Trump.¹
• Wray said the shooting is being probed both as an act of domestic terrorism and an attempted assassination, calling it 'an attack on democracy.' He went on to say that the FBI would leave 'no stone unturned' in its investigation.²
• During the hearing, Wray faced questions about the FBI's findings, including information related to shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks' movements leading up to the incident and his online searches related to past presidential assassinations.³
• In its investigation, the FBI found that Crooks had previously flown a drone to scout the rally site and had images of Trump, Pres. Joe Biden, and other officials on his devices. The organization, however, has still not released a motive for the shooting.⁴
• Wray's testimony has given the most comprehensive timeline thus far of Crook's actions on the day of the shooting and the week leading up to it, as well as shed light on the gunman's prior preparations.⁵
• US Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned amid criticism of the security protocols at the rally, which saw one person killed, and three people, including Trump, wounded.⁴

Agents are working night and day to investigate this heinous crime and find the answers that everyone so desperately seeks. Political violence like this is completely unacceptable. This was an attack against American Democracy. It would be best to let the FBI's investigation run its course instead of encouraging baseless speculation.
• Establishment-critical narrative, as provided by PJ Media. It is ridiculous that the FBI still cannot answer basic questions regarding the motive of Crooks in his assassination attempt against Trump. It is confusing that Wray has said that there is no clear ideological motive that could have explained the attack despite evidence that may suggest otherwise. Trump was failed by law enforcement, and the American public deserves answers as to why and how this could have been allowed to happen.
